Martin Moodie is the Founder & Chairman of The Moodie Report.

He’s one of travel retail’s most experienced brand executives and one of its most respected. He’s a man who walks and talks the business, whose word is his bond and whose reputation precedes him into every meeting.

Meet Art Miller, for so long the face of US beauty products house Revlon in travel retail (and key Asia Pacific domestic markets) and now returning to the business as Founder of a new company, Excel Brand Solutions.

The New Jersey-born, Hawaii-raised Miller led Revlon’s global travel retail operation from its creation in 2003 until his departure in 2014, building the brand’s presence to a disproportionately strong position in a channel dominated by the familiar industry heavyweights.

After taking some time out post-Revlon with his wife Nancy, Miller this month announced the creation of his new company. Excel Brand Solutions offers brand owners “specialised and effective solutions to build and grow their business”, focusing primarily on Asia Pacific and the Middle East & Africa geographies, within both domestic and travel retail channels.

There are few individuals better placed than to do just that. Miller’s new business card may say Excel Brand Solutions but what it doesn’t say – yet many people know – is equally important. For Hawaii’s most famous son in travel retail, qualities such as integrity, commitment and passion are writ large between the lines.
