Welcome to The Moodie Davitt Report’s Interim Moscow Bureau. I’m here in the Russian capital for the annual party of Regstaer, the dynamic travel retailer in which Dufry took a 51% stake in 2012. The pictures above and directly below were taken from the breakfast terrace at my hotel, the Ritz-Carlton. Spell-binding.
Last night I had dinner with Regstaer Founder & Chairman Alexander Baev (below right) and Commercial Director Vadim Sagiev (left) at the magnificent Cristal Room Baccarat on the first floor of the Moscow Maison Baccarat, which was designed by the legendary Philippe Starck.
I have known both Alexander and Vadim for several years and they are two of the finest gentlemen you could ever meet. Today we’re taking a tour of the Kremlin, followed by a boat ride this evening on the Moskva River. It’s going to be an action-packed few days with many of Regstaer’s business partners flying in for the occasion.
I have mentioned many times in this Blog the sheer privilege I always feel to be a member of this industry. The hospitality one encounters around the world is both amazing and humbling. To be part of this grand occasion is an honour indeed.
