Virtually any delegate attending the recent TFWA World Exhibition would have had the opportunity to visit what is in our eyes one of the best gourmet stores in travel retail as well as one of the best examples of Destination Merchandise.
We’re talking about the quite wonderful Hediard store at Nice airport. Hediard, of course, is a great name of French fine foods (and drink) retailing – and it’s nice to see it so well showcased in travel retail. From fine wine to foie gras, from exquisite Valrhona chocolates to great baskets of local preserves, it’s one of those stores that just propels the credit card out of your wallet.
