Go on, admit it, you’ve often felt like this poor chap pictured above left at the China Southern Airlines lounge at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, haven’t you?
Another long wait for a late night (or early morning) flight, stuck in the lounge, just wanting to get home.

Even though the lounge is not too bad, I must confess to feeling a bit that way on my most recent visit to the Pearl River Delta gateway, part of a less than 48-hour London-China return trip. Alas all the time I spent in the lounge meant I only got a hurried view of one of the best artistic and cultural displays I have seen in an airport.

Contained within a tunnel-like effect, this exhibition depicting many of Guangzhou’s most revered buildings and cultural attractions is as dazzling a ‘walk to gate’ as you will find anywhere in the airport world. I will let my pictures tell the story.
