Everyone at The Moodie Report joins with the whole industry in wishing Doug Newhouse, Managing Editor and Co-Owner of Travel Retail Business and TREND, a swift and full recovery from the heart attack he suffered at Heathrow Airport on his return from the Cannes show last week.
Doug is our toughest, most serious and most respected rival, a journalist who gives his all, a man with a work ethic that is extraordinary by anybody’s standards. He is passionate and knowledgeable about the business in equal measure. He drives himself harder than just about anyone I know.
Perversely, when we chatted last week at the Cannes show (below), we both reminded each other of the need to slow down. Now, through forced circumstances, Doug really does need to rest up. But one thing is certain, he will bounce back in his inimitable style. I wish him well just as he did so fulsomely when I was struck down with illness last year.

I am sorry to hear your news, but from someone who was in your poistion in December last year there is light ahead. Take head of the Doctor’s advice, rest and slow down …. in time if you follow the advice you will feel better than ever as I do now.
