Word reaches The Moodie BLOG that Paul Hogan, owner of PPS Publications which produces the Cannes, Singapore and (now) Fort Lauderdale show dailies, completed the recent London marathon in a fantastic fund-raising effort for charity.
Paul raised US$35,000 for Children with Leukaemia, motivated by the experience of his eight-year-old daughter Bronte who was struck down with a rare strain of the disease last September.
The Hogans are clearly made of stoical stuff – not only did dad Paul complete the gruelling 26-mile event in a tad over 4 hours but daughter Bronte looks set for a full recovery.
In a nice note to the trade Paul said: “I need to thank a lot of very, very generous people in this business for sponsoring me, including IAADFS, the board of TFWA, ACI Europe, ACI North America, Gebr Heinemann’s Harry Diehl, Martin Moodie of Moodie International and Brian Grossman of ELI. Great human kindness and comfort has also been shown throughout this episode and in this respect I would like to specially mention Frank O’Connell [Aer Rianta Director of Retail and ETRC President].
Bravo Paul for your courageous marathon effort – almost as marathon as putting out a show daily on time – and bravo, most of all, to Bronte.
