One of the finest social days in the Middle East industry calendar hit a new milestone on 28 January, as Brown-Forman’s travel retail team hosted its tenth annual Jack Daniel’s golf tournament in Dubai.
The hugely popular event attracted golfers from around the region, many of them customers of the brand owner. It took place at the Arabian Ranches course, courtesy of Area Director Middle East & North Africa Tony McIver (below left, with Dick Potter) and his superb team.
The course was bedecked with Brown-Forman livery, from the signage that greeted visitors to the branding that populated each hole from tee to green.
With sand traps lying in wait the length of the course, Arabian Ranches proved a tough scoring venue. In the end, the winner was Irishman and now local Dubai resident Paul McCabe with an excellent 39. The Moodie Report’s Dermot Davitt came in with what he considered a respectable 31, blaming some poor closing holes on the excess hospitality provided by Brown-Forman on a wonderful day in the desert.
