The 17th Dubai Dubai Duty Free Golf World Cup saw one of the most popular winners in the event’s history – James Kfouri, General Manager Sales & Marketing for Australian confectionery company Paton’s.

Renowned for its famous Macadamia nuts range of chocolates, the company will also now be synonymous with sporting excellence after the Melbourne-based executive scored an impressive 75 stableford points over the two-day tournament, played at The Montgomerie Dubai and the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club.

Day one saw him rack up a particularly notable 40 points.

It’s been a big week for the amiable Australian, who also came in third in the ‘Miles for Smiles’ fund-raising race in Dubai on behalf of cleft charity The Smile Train last Saturday.

A delighted James told The Moodie Report tonight: “It’s an unbelievable moment. It’s been fantastically organized by Dubai Duty Free – an absolute credit to the industry.

“It’s a global tournament from an invitation perspective and we’re now making it truly global by taking the trophy down to Australia.”
