Paying tribute to Danny Galvin

The family of Danny Galvin, alongside his colleagues at Aer Rianta International, are finalising plans for a special memorial day to mark the anniversary of his passing. It takes place on 26 May in County Cork, Ireland and will include a charity fund-raising element.

Galvin, the hugely popular CTC-ARI Airports General Manager lost his life in a car crash in Cyprus last May. His death prompted a huge outpouring of grief from around the world of travel retail.

The event later this month will begin with Memorial Mass in St Columba’s Church, Douglas, Cork, at 10am on Saturday, 26 May. At around 2pm there will be a charity golf outing; at Fota Island Golf Resort, Little Island, Cork – one of the leading courses in southwest Ireland.

A special rate has been arranged for participants (golfers and non-golfers) at Maryborough Hotel and Spa, Douglas, Cork. The prices arranged are €65 per person sharing, B&B, per night or €90 euro for a single room. The hotel contact is +353 21 4365555. Guests are asked to quote the rate for the ‘Galvin event’ on that weekend.
