Travel retail’s ultimate Marathon Man, Sean Staunton, is continuing an epic endurance feat around the world.
As revealed in an earlier Blog, the Dubai Duty Free Manager – Operations is running four marathons across four continents in four months. That’s a total of 168km, all for a mighty cause – to raise funds for travel retail industry charity Hand in Hand for Haiti (whose school opens this September).
Previously, Sean had completed the Barcelona and Borneo marathons. On 23 June, reports his management colleague Sinead El Sibai, the Irishman (pictured below right) added a Kenyan marathon to that towering portfolio of achievement, running with the Maasai tribes through the Laikipia plateau in the beautiful Kenyan wilderness.
Next stop is Rio, where Sean plans to “samba” through the great city of Rio de Janeiro.
Dubai Duty Free is rightly proud of Sean. So should the whole travel retail industry be.
To date he has raised US$4,000 towards his original goal of US$5,000. It’s a finishing line Sean will reach, just as he will reach the other four. But this one we can help him cross. To donate please click here.
