Among the many impressive industry stories of ingenuity in getting home while stranded during the volcano ash crisis, was there a more impressive one than that of ARI Group Retail Operations Director Nick Forbes?
Nick had been in Moscow when Irish and UK airspace was first closed last Thursday. At first things looked bleak, very bleak. The native Australian might have been quicker to fly home via Brisbane…
But you can’t keep a good Aussie down. Nick takes up the story: “I arrived home at 8:15pm on 21 April… after I flew to Nice from Moscow; hired a car and drove 950km to Paris; Eurostar to London; Train to Holyhead; ferry to Dublin and then drive home… from leaving Moscow to home [in Ennis, near Shannon, Ireland], 62 hours!!!”
And all in time for his 40th birthday on 21 April.
Happy Birthday Nick.
