News reaches us from Hawaii where a few days ago DFS employees set a Guinness World Record by creating the world’s largest coffee mosaic art. Their effort was a celebration of the upcoming Art of Hawaiian Coffee event at DFS Galleria Waikiki.

The mosaic was formed by 5,642 cups of coffee, featuring ten different shades. The chosen subject of the piece? Unless you’re a very young reader, you guessed it –it’s ‘The King’ Elvis Presley, from his ‘Blue Hawaii’ days, one of three films he shot in Hawaii.

You can watch (in fast forward mode), this great piece of fun retail, via YouTube – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJuTN8cEa6g&sns=em

The previous record holder in the coffee mosaic category was the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority for The Rocks Aroma Festival in Sydney, Australia in 2009. Their 3,604 cups depicted the Mona Lisa, who alas no longer has cause to smile.
