The Moodie Report’s LA Adventure: Day 2

The following two tabs change content below.

With the inclement “June Gloom” playing havoc with everyone’s wardrobe, after breakfast we head back to the shops in search of a thermal vest, or similar, to ward off the chill. Unfortunately we are seriously distracted by Barney’s sale on Louboutins, and return to the hotel infinitely better shod but still bloody freezing.

Yarosh_Mammone Today we finally get to see Clinique’s new anti-ageing product, Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle & UV Damage Corrector. Our car takes us high into Beverly Hills to an amazing property for the dual presentation by Senior Vice President, Basic Science Research Dr Daniel Yarosh and Executive Director of Clinique Research and Development Dr Tom Mammone.

The “de-ageing serum” is said to work day and night to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and repair and help prevent UV damage with results remarkably close a dermatological laser treatment – but without the risks and wound damage such lasers usually entail.

Yarosh_Mammone2 According to Clinique’s clinical trials, if used twice a day for 12 weeks, the new Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle & UV Damage Corrector achieves an impressive 63% of the visible wrinkle reducing power of a laser.

Retailing domestically at around €48, it will begin rolling out in earnest from September.

We return to our hotel via a detour down “Sunset Strip” taking in the infamous Viper Room and the Whisky-A-Go-Go en route. Our dinner venue tonight, however, is the rather more salubrious Tavern restaurant, in the well-heeled district of Brentwood.

We probably double our body weight by indulging in the signature “Snickers” dessert (so sinfully good it’s worth the 11-hour flight to LA just to sample it), desperately hoping that tomorrow’s yoga session will help offset the calorific damage.
