Judging by our photo, quite a few people. As most delegates to the TFWA Asia Pacific show in Singapore this week will have discovered on their return through Changi Airport, this year’s Be a Changi Millionaire initiative was launched earlier this month, and the impact has been immediate. In Terminal 1, the new central piazza boasts an unmissable “slot machine” installation that allows customers at Changi’s commercial outlets to compete for the chance to win a million. And plenty were prepared to queue for the privilege.
The commercial team at Changi Airport Group decided a few years ago to introduce bigger, more memorable pan-airport promotional initiatives, rather than rely on smaller, shop-specific campaigns. The obvious excitement generated by Be a Changi Millionaire is a strong vindication of that decision.
