The Moodie Report is more used to writing about best-sellers in duty free than being one of them.
So imagine our excitement at spotting a beautiful display for a limited-edition version of our book ‘The World Rovers’ at Dubai Duty Free this month.
The book, co-authored by Dermot Davitt and yours truly Martin Moodie, tells the epic tale of the Irish influence on the global duty free industry over the past 60 years – from its founding father Dr Brendan O’Regan to latter-day keepers of the flame such as Aer Rianta International-Middle East boss John Sutcliffe and Dubai Duty Free Managing Director Colm McLoughlin.
Colm was one of the great champions of the book when we first suggested the concept, urging us to persist with it and supporting it at every turn. That support manifested itself most visibly in the underwriting of a special hardback version of the book, currently being sold at Dubai Duty Free.
