The day before any big press-day is never easy – the day before your annual Cannes issue closes is stressful enough to see most journalists run low on lucidity. Thankfully, for this writer, a little clarity was on offer pre-press day last week at the swish Dorchester Spa, courtesy of Clinique and the launch event for its reformulated Clarifying Lotion – a key pillar of the brand’s signature 3-Step Skin Care System.
The launch was attended by Clinique’s Guiding Dermatologist, Dr David Orentreich, the son of Clinique’s founding dermatologist, who delivered, in plain, easy-to-follow English, an illuminating speech on the science behind the formula update.
The presentation itself took place in a haven of peace and calm, with comfortable chairs, fabulous flowers, delicious canapés – and not a computer screen in sight. Reader, we would have happily moved in.
However, instead of succumbing to the lure of a first-class selection of spa treatments, post-presentation this writer trudged home for the final round of proofing, prior to final Cannes press day.
Clinique’s Clarifying Lotion has a proven track record in terms of helping skin regularly and effectively shed dead skin cells and look healthier and clearer. Last week, it indirectly helped to preserve this frazzled writer’s brain cells, thanks to its reveal in a much-needed, albeit short-lived, haven of calm.
