There was Champagne. Caviar. Foie gras. And chocolate. Reader, we didn’t want to leave. The ‘Discover Unique Tastes’ event, jointly organised by Valrhona, Petrossian, Rougie and Champagne Duval-Leroy, at the Bistrot des Anges on Tuesday evening, provided guests with some delicious r&r after a hard day pounding the floors of the Palais.
Against a backdrop of mellow live music, the assorted gourmets sampled a selection of gastronic delights, fortifying body and soul in readiness for day three of Cannes 2011.
Weightwatchers will doubtless be welcoming a new recruit next week, but until then this writer intends to loosen the waistband, eat, drink and be merry, because frankly, it would be rude not to. Bon appetit tout le monde!
