The Moodie Report is delighted to reveal that rumours of Pat Brogan’s death have been greatly exaggerated. The genial Irishman and wife Kay were back in Orlando this week, armed with a new product that is already making inroads in the Americas.
Pat and Kay have been best known in recent years for Brogan’s Irish Cream, the liqueur Pat launched over ten years ago. Last year the Brogans sold their interest in the eponymous brew to their partners in the brand, First Ireland Spirits Co, and returned to Kells to plot their next move.
Any fears that the Brogans might sail into the Meath sunset have now been summarily dismissed. As new company Ireland’s Finest Liqueur & Spirits Co, they are back with a new Irish Cream, named O’Donoghues. Described as “a genuine luxurious taste experience”, O’Donoghues is already available to duty free shoppers in the Caribbean, via Motta-owned distributor and retailer Carisam-Samuel Meisel. Pat and Kay are confident more listings will follow.
For the Brogans, there is obviously life after Brogan’s. We salute the triumphant return of another of our industry’s legion of Irish Rovers.
