Hugo Boss Head of Travel Retail Nadine Heubel will hit the honorary first drive at the annual Moodie International Superstars Honorary Invitation Tournament (MIS-HIT) Trophy on Saturday here in Cannes.

The German fashion supremo has confirmed that there is no end to her talents by taking up golf just five weeks ago and already getting her handicap down to 25 – the same as her age.

Nadine is expected to bring a much-needed touch of sartorial splendour to this year’s MIS-HIT, which involves 28 of the industry’s leading retailers and suppliers with the press, as always, there to make up the numbers.

Last year’s MIS-HIT was won by King Power (HK) Managing Director Antares Cheng in tandem with his Abu Dhabi Duty Free counterpart Mohamed Mounib (pictured slicing his drive out of bounds on the first hole). The latter gained double distinction, winning the ‘Pink Tee Consortium’ fashion award after blinding his playing partners with his fluorescent tight pink trousers.

This year the popular 16 handicapper is expected to compete hard for the same award with Nadine Heubel. Abu Dhabi Duty Free has launched its own fashion, accessories and lifestyle brand called Vespucci and reliable but anonymous sources in the next office to Mohamed Mounib confirm the line will make its official debut at the MIS-HIT. Will Vespucci violet be the fairway hit this year?

Some players, including World Duty Free Managing Director Mark Riches and Gebr Heinemann Chairman of the Advisory Board Harry Diehl have arrived early in Cannes to fine-tune their games and take part in the highly-selective Pink Tee Consortium Cup today.

We’ll bring you photos of both events, the full story of the MIS-HIT, and the identity of this year’s Pink Tee Consortium fashion award on The Moodie Report Cannes BLOG. Stay tuned to Fairway to Heaven.
