Who is that masked man? None other than Dubai Duty Free supremo Colm McLoughlin, captured on camera by The Moodie BLOG at the recent TFWA Asia Pacific show in Singapore.
For once that is not devoted wife Breeda by his side but one of the promotional team from Maui Jim, the eyewear house that is making such an impact at duty free trade shows with its irreverent, fun displays, strictly ‘dress down’ attire among its senior management (Hawaiian shirts are de rigueur) and innovative sunglasses.
Colm certainly looks the part in his Maui Jim shades, though that shouldn’t surprise anyone – for there has long been a touch of the Hawaiian in the Galwayman’s propensity for technicolour ties that have others urgently reaching for their own sunglasses on first meeting him.
