The Moodie Report prides itself on the use of new technology to bring the latest news with immediacy to a global industry. But we are not too proud to call on more traditional means of communication where necessary.
Such a situation arose as we planned our coverage of TFWA World Exhibition in the lead-up to the big Cannes show. How could we get stories from the Palais des Festivals to our offices overlooking the Croisette in the shortest possible time while our team of reporters were busy attending the conference or roving the exhibition?
Answer… by carrier pigeon. The Moodie Report can now reveal that in the run-up to Cannes, our local representatives at No 4 La Croisette carefully selected and trained two of France’s finest winged messengers, carefully honing their homing instincts to make the short journey from the Palais to The Moodie Report Cannes Bureau.
We named them, ‘Moodie’ and ‘Report’ respectively (pictured left to right above) – and apart from the odd untimely dropping on the Bureau balcony, they never let us – or themselves – down once.
